A few years ago, avocado has become one of the most popular fruits of Spanish homes and what seemed to be a passing fad has already settled among us. So much so that little by little we dare to combine it with other ingredients that a few years ago would have sounded impossible, as is the case with today’s recipe: creamy chocolate mousse and avocado .
Today we are revolutionized with the Chocolate Day and the team of editors we are celebrating with all kinds of chocolaty proposals. Mine is this creamy chocolate and avocado mousse . A dessert to surprise that is ready in 15 minutes. Although you can eat as it is ready, the texture and taste change with rest so it is best to wait to enjoy it at its optimum.
Ingredients for four servings
- 125 g of chocolate to melt (minimum 60% of cocoa), 2 ripe avocados, 20 g of pure cocoa powder, 125 ml of almond milk, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence and honey (quantity to taste).
How to make chocolate and avocado creamy mousse
We started by chopping the chocolate to melt and placing it in a microwave-safe bowl. We heat it until it melts, being careful not to burn it. We give short heat shocks , 30 seconds each, and remove between them. Let temper a little.
Cut the avocados in half, remove the bones and extract the meat. We place it in the glass of a kitchen robot and add the cocoa powder, the almond milk and the vanilla essence. We crush until we obtain a homogeneous mixture in which no traces of avocado are noticed .
Next, add the melted chocolate and grind again. We taste the point of our mousse and sweeten it with honey to taste. We add a small amount, crush, test and, if we consider necessary, add more. So until you get the point of sweetness that we like. Let it sit cold for six to eight hours so that it loses the flavor of avocado and take shape before decorating and serving.

This creamy chocolate and avocado mousse is perfect for the dessert of a light meal. It is consistent and full, so we will have to make room for it if we do not want to die trying. The creaminess of the mixture is incredible in the mouth, thanks to the texture of the avocado. We can decorate it with whipped cream and cocoa powder to give it a touch of elegance.
